The Win and Place Investment Plan is the latest offering from Steve James. It is a system for backing horses in compliance with 7 selection filters. To be able to check these filters you do need access to either the printed version of Racing Post or be a subscriber to their web site.
The selection can be made as soon as you have access to the Racing Post or web site which means that it is ideal for those who like to make their selections well before racing. By the nature of the filter process the selections will tend to be low priced but with a high success rate.
Steve provides actual results from the beginning of May this year until the beginning of October. He also provides details of the systems performance from January 2010 until the end of April.
Combining these figures shows a 10 month level stake profit of 89 points. With a more aggressive staking plan the profits are even more impressive but you can read about those in the system.
This is a system that would be difficult if not impossible to back test so I assume that the facts and figures provided are actual results and this makes them impressive return figures. I was also impressed by the fact that Steve recommends only a 12 point starter bank for the win aspect and a 6 point bank for the each way bets.
I found the rules of the system simple to follow and easy to apply. However, The Win & Place Investment plan is not for those looking for a quick big return. During the period 4 May to 8 October ( a period of 158 days) there were only 69 selections of which only 5 were unplaced and 46 actually won a 66% success rate. The highest priced winner was 3.46 and half of the winners were odds on.
The system is presented as an 18 page report and comes from Sportsworld Publishing and is priced at £95 which includes 3 months membership to the Tipping line. At first look this seems to offer a good potential for steady year round profits and is well worth looking at. We will be carrying out a 30 day paper test on The Win & Place Investment Plan and will publish the results on horse racing systemsreview.com in the middle of December but if you do not want to wait go to Win and Place Investment Plan

Because of the poor weather and the many abandonments there have not been that many selections during the first 30 days of the test. There have in fact only been 10 selections since we started on 19th November.
Within the system there are 3 suggested staking plans and we have monitored all 3 and this is our findings.
10 selections providing 8 wins – that gives a strike rate as an impressive 80%.
Of course the important question is “does it make money?”
Staking Plan 1 – Fibonacci ( 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13) has never
gone beyond step 2 and shows a profit of 9.94 points
Staking Plan 2 – Level stakes (double after bank doubled)
has returned a profit of 6.28 points.
Staking Plan 3 – (2 points win and 3 points place)
has generated 14.01 points profit.
Given the weather and attendant problems that brings
this must be seen as a very encouraging start. We shall continue to test the Win & Place Investment Plan for another 30 days. Hopefully if the weather improves we shall have more selections to help prove the system.
