The purpose of this site is to review horse racing systems that offer a real opportunity for punters to make a profit if they follow them. I never publish negative reports because if a system is a load of rubbish, and so many are, why should I give them any publicity?
Unfortunately over the last few months very little worthwhile has been put on to the market. I have tested several systems which at first seemed promising but which disappointed after a few weeks. Things do now appear to be improving and I have a couple of new plans which I am testing that are looking quite good.
Today however, it is not exactly a racing system I want to tell you about but an ebook by Mike Davies that has the unlikely title of “Power Trading, Steaming the Favourite, Be the Bookmaker and The Flying Dutchman”. From now on for simplicity I shall just call it “Power Trading”.
Mike spent 10 years as a London Stock Exchange Trader and for the last 5 years has also been a Betfair Trader and Advisor. I can think of no one better than him to write this definitive book about Trading on Betfair.
There has been a lot of over hyped nonsense written over the years about “no risk trading” on the betting exchanges but this book is different. I could not find one piece of hype in any of its 207 pages. In fact if anything Mike plays down the opportunity.
In the books 7 chapters Mike starts by showing you how to spot weak favourites and discusses “steamers” and “drifters” before showing by example the various techniques and methods he uses as a trader. For content and value I would rate this book on a par with False Favourites and you know what esteem I hold that particular manual.
If you are looking for a book that shows you how to back a 10/1 for £100 and then lay it at 8/1 to make a quick £200 risk free then this is not for you. Mikes policy is little and often. This means perhaps backing at 2.6 and laying at 2.4. Not a big profit but if you do 4 or 5 similar trades in one race it is worth having.
Mike suggests a target of 10% on turnover which may not sound a great deal but with a bank of £500 in a month the value of all your bets could be £5000 which by my reckoning would give you a profit of around £500 or a bank growth of 100%. To achieve this you do not need to trade in every race and it is suggested that you select about 10 suitable races a day.
In addition to the main “Power Trading” e book you will also receive 2 bonus books,
The first 75 page book contains Mike’s “Field Reduction System” which by itself is well worth the modest asking price for the complete package. The second bonus is another book “The Life and Times of a Betfair Trader which again is packed full of hints and strategies for would be traders.
Having praised this package to the skies I do have to say after having read the ebook from cover to cover I am not certain that playing Betfair as a trader is actually for me. There are certain aspects of sitting in front of a computer for 2 or 3 hours just monitoring prices which does not appeal. However, if you have the right kind of mindset by following the advise you will be able to make a healthy profit for your efforts.
Having said that I shall not take up full time trading there is more than enough really helpful information and statistic within the 3 publications to really help me sort out the strong and weak favourites. So for that fact alone it is well worth the purchase price. If I operated a star system “Power Trading” would get 5 stars. In summary, terrific information, great value for money and 100% up to date.
